For privacy laws that use the concept of a "controller," Jisung Kim is the controller of personal information processed by DeskCue.
This Privacy Policy explains how DeskCue handles information when you use the DeskCue macOS application and related support communications.
DeskCue is designed as a local-first workspace preparation app. We do not operate a DeskCue account system, advertising network, or cloud sync service. Most information used by DeskCue stays on your Mac.
1. Information We Process
Calendar Information
If you grant Calendar access, DeskCue reads calendar event information from macOS Calendar to show upcoming events and help prepare your workspace.
This may include event titles, start and end times, calendar names, locations, notes, recurrence information, and meeting or video links.
DeskCue uses this information to display upcoming events, detect meeting links, connect events to Prep Profiles, schedule prep reminders, and start or restore workspace preparation flows.
DeskCue does not create, edit, or delete your calendar events. DeskCue does not upload your calendar events to our servers.
Google Calendar Information
If you choose to connect a Google Calendar account, DeskCue uses Google OAuth to request the minimum access needed to identify the connected Google account and read your calendar list and calendar events. DeskCue requests the openid, email, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonly, and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.readonly scopes.
Google may provide DeskCue with your Google account identifier and email address, calendar identifiers and names, and read-only event information. The event information may include event identifiers, titles, start and end times, locations, descriptions or notes, recurrence information, and meeting or video links.
DeskCue uses Google Calendar information only to display upcoming events, identify available calendars, detect meeting links, connect events to Prep Profiles, schedule local prep reminders, and start or restore workspace preparation flows. DeskCue does not create, edit, delete, share, or otherwise modify Google Calendar events.
DeskCue stores Google OAuth access and refresh tokens in the macOS Keychain. It stores the connected Google account identifier, email address, connection status, and any event snapshots connected to Prep Profiles locally on your Mac. DeskCue does not upload Google Calendar information or OAuth tokens to DeskCue servers, and does not send Google Calendar information, Google account identifiers, email addresses, or OAuth tokens to Firebase Analytics.
DeskCue's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. DeskCue does not sell, use for advertising, or use Google Calendar information to train or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model. DeskCue does not transfer Google Calendar information to third parties except as necessary to provide the user-facing DeskCue features you request and in accordance with applicable law.
Workspace and Profile Information
DeskCue stores the information you configure in the app, such as Prep Profile names, descriptions, selected apps, app bundle identifiers, app paths, URLs, selected files or folders, security-scoped file bookmarks, overlay settings, event-profile connections, reminder settings, subscription access state, and workspace state.
This information is stored locally on your Mac using Apple platform storage. DeskCue does not upload this information to our servers.
DeskCue does not read the contents of your selected files or folders. File and folder access is used to open the items you selected.
Notifications
If you enable Prep reminders, DeskCue may schedule local macOS notifications. Notification data may include event title, event time, event identifier, and meeting link so DeskCue can respond to notification actions such as starting Prep Mode or restoring your workspace.
These notifications are handled through Apple's local notification system.
Subscription and Purchase Information
DeskCue uses Apple StoreKit to provide subscriptions and verify access. Apple processes payments. DeskCue does not collect or store your payment card number, bank account information, or Apple ID password.
DeskCue may process StoreKit transaction status, product identifier, subscription entitlement status, renewal or expiration date, and related access state to determine whether your trial or subscription is active.
Analytics Information
DeskCue uses Firebase Analytics to automatically collect limited app usage and device information when you use DeskCue. We use this information to understand app usage and improve the product.
Analytics events may include screen names, feature usage events, access state, static product identifiers, counts, boolean values, source labels, app version, device information, operating system information, language, time zone, approximate region, and a Firebase app-instance identifier. Google or Firebase may also receive device and network information, such as IP address, as part of providing Firebase Analytics.
DeskCue does not send calendar event titles, calendar names, notes, meeting URLs, user-entered URLs, file paths, file names, profile names, app names, file contents, Google account identifiers, Google account email addresses, or Google OAuth tokens to Firebase Analytics.
Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, maintain support history, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
DeskCue does not collect advertising identifiers for advertising purposes.
DeskCue does not use Google AdMob or other advertising SDKs.
DeskCue does not sell your personal information.
DeskCue does not share your personal information with data brokers.
DeskCue does not use your information for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.
DeskCue does not use your calendar, files, URLs, or profile data to train AI or machine learning models.
DeskCue does not require you to create a DeskCue account or manually provide your age, name, email address, phone number, physical address, or other direct contact information inside the app. If you connect Google Calendar, DeskCue receives your Google account email address as described above.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Show upcoming calendar events.
- Detect and open meeting links.
- Connect events to Prep Profiles.
- Prepare your workspace by opening selected apps, files, folders, and URLs.
- Hide selected apps and restore them later.
- Display privacy overlays.
- Schedule local prep and restore reminders.
- Restore your workspace after an event.
- Verify trial or subscription access.
- Improve app reliability and understand aggregate feature usage.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of subscriptions.
- Respond to support requests.
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, and App Store requirements.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are in a region where a legal basis is required, we rely on the following bases:
- Performance of a contract: to provide DeskCue features you request, including workspace preparation, event connections, reminders, and subscription access.
- Consent: when you grant Calendar or Notification permissions, authorize Google Calendar access through Google OAuth, contact us for support, or where consent is required by applicable law.
- Legitimate interests: to improve DeskCue, understand aggregate usage, maintain security, prevent abuse, and verify subscription access.
- Legal obligations: where we must comply with applicable law, legal process, or App Store requirements.
You may withdraw Calendar or Notification permission at any time in macOS System Settings.
You may disconnect a Google Calendar account in DeskCue Settings at any time. You may also revoke DeskCue's Google access through your Google Account settings.
5. Third-Party Services
DeskCue uses the following third-party services:

Third-party services process information according to their own privacy policies and terms. We do not authorize third-party services to use DeskCue information for advertising or cross-app tracking on our behalf.
6. Local Storage and Retention
DeskCue stores app configuration and workspace data locally on your Mac until you delete it in the app, remove related settings, disconnect event-profile connections, disable reminders, or remove the app and its local app data.
Calendar event lists are refreshed from macOS Calendar or, when you connect a Google account, from Google Calendar through the Google Calendar API. Event snapshots connected to Prep Profiles may remain locally so DeskCue can preserve your reminder and workspace-prep settings.
Google OAuth tokens, connected Google account information, and related local event snapshots remain on your Mac until you disconnect the Google account in DeskCue, remove related settings, or remove DeskCue and its local app data. Disconnecting a Google account removes the local OAuth token, Google event-profile connections, and related reminders from DeskCue. It does not delete Google Calendar events. You can revoke DeskCue's authorization directly through your Google Account settings.
Local notification requests remain until they are delivered, canceled, disabled, or removed by macOS.
DeskCue configures Firebase Analytics to retain event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. The user-data retention period resets when a user has new activity. Accordingly, user-level analytics data may be retained for up to 14 months after a user's most recent activity. These settings do not govern aggregated standard reports maintained by Google Analytics.
Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You can control DeskCue data in the following ways:
- Revoke Calendar access in macOS System Settings.
- Revoke Notification permission in macOS System Settings.
- Disconnect a Google Calendar account in DeskCue Settings to remove its local OAuth token, event-profile connections, and related reminders.
- Revoke DeskCue's Google access through your Google Account settings.
- Delete or edit Prep Profiles, URLs, files, folders, and event connections inside DeskCue.
- Disable Prep reminders.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account or App Store subscription settings.
- Uninstall DeskCue and remove its local app data.
- Contact us at deskcue@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or other rights available under applicable law.
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, and other jurisdictions, you may have additional privacy rights. These may include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information; the right to data portability; the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and the right to lodge a complaint with a local data protection authority.
We may need to verify your request before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law.
8. California Privacy Notice
This section applies to California residents.
DeskCue does not sell personal information. DeskCue does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
DeskCue does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information on our servers or use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. However, if you grant Calendar access, your calendar events may contain sensitive information that DeskCue processes locally on your Mac to provide app features.
The categories of personal information DeskCue may process include:
- Identifiers, such as a Firebase app-instance identifier or Apple StoreKit transaction-related identifiers.
- Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as app usage events collected through Firebase Analytics.
- Commercial information, such as subscription entitlement status processed through Apple StoreKit.
- Calendar and workspace content that you choose to make available to DeskCue, processed locally on your Mac.
- Device and app information, such as operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and approximate region.
We use these categories for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We retain them as described in the "Local Storage and Retention" section.
California residents may contact us at deskcue@gmail.com to request access, deletion, correction, or information about our privacy practices.
9. International Processing and Transfers
DeskCue is distributed globally. Third-party services may process information in countries other than your country of residence.
Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, and its affiliates and subprocessors. This data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google or its subprocessors maintain facilities.

Other Third-Party Services
Apple and Google Calendar services may also process information outside your country of residence as described in their applicable privacy policies and terms.
10. Children's Privacy
DeskCue is a general-audience productivity app. It is not specifically directed to children and does not contain content targeted to children.
Children may use DeskCue where permitted by their parent or guardian and by applicable App Store, Apple Account, and device settings. Parents and guardians should review this Privacy Policy and manage Calendar, Notification, subscription, and device permissions as appropriate.
DeskCue does not require users to create a DeskCue account or manually provide their age, name, email address, or other direct contact information inside the app. If a user connects Google Calendar, DeskCue receives the user's Google account email address as described above.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in a way that requires parental consent and such consent was not provided, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify that information unless retention is required by law.

11. Security
DeskCue uses Apple platform protections such as App Sandbox, system permission prompts, read-only user-selected file access, and security-scoped bookmarks. Network communication with third-party services uses standard transport security.
For Google Calendar connections, DeskCue uses Google OAuth and stores OAuth tokens in the macOS Keychain.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information handled by DeskCue.
12. Links to Other Services
DeskCue may open URLs, meeting links, websites, apps, files, or folders that you select or that appear in your calendar events. Those external services are not operated by DeskCue. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date.
If changes are material or legally require notice, we will provide additional notice through an appropriate method, such as the app, App Store release notes, our website, or direct communication where available.
